Paul Émile Chabas (1869-1937) peintre et illustrateur français, est célébré comme l’un des peintres de nus les plus exceptionnels d’Europe. Ses débuts au Salon en 1890 ont marqué le début d’un remarquable voyage artistique. Notamment, Chabas a remporté un grand succès en remportant le Prix National au Salon de Paris en 1899 avec son œuvre Joyeux Ébats. Ses talents ont été à nouveau reconnus avec une médaille d’or à l’Exposition Universelle de 1900, et en 1912, il a été honoré avec la prestigieuse Médaille d’honneur.
