Маленькому зайчику	To a little hare
На сырой ложбинке	On a damp hollow
Прежде глазки тешили	Who used to amuse his eyes
Белые цветочки…	with white flowers …

Осенью расплакались	In the autumn , burst into tears,
Тонкие былинки,	Thin blades of grass
Лапки наступают	Paws step
На жёлтые листочки.	on yellow leaves.

Хмурая, дождливая	Gloomy, rainy
Наступила осень,	Autumn has come,
Всю капустку сняли,	All the cabbage has been picked up,
Нечего украсть.	There is nothing to steal.

Бедный зайчик прыгает	The poor little hare is jumping
Возле мокрых сосен,	near the wet pines,
Страшно в лапы волку	It’s scary, into the clutches of a wolf
Серому попасть…	A Gray wolf to fall into …

Думает о лете,	He thinks about summer,
Прижимает уши,	presses his ears,
На небо косится –	looks at the sky –
Неба не видать…	Can’t see the sky…

Только б потеплее,	If only it were warmer,
