Snow falls over a secluded lakeside settlement as a sailing ship waits offshore in the icy water.
A hand-drawn winter scene shows a small log-cabin settlement surrounded by wooden palisades, deep snow, and smoke rising from several chimneys. Bundled villagers walk along the paths near the cabins, while dense evergreen forest covers the hills behind them. Beyond the village, a partially frozen harbor stretches toward the horizon, where a tall sailing ship sits among the ice. Cool blue-gray tones, falling snow, and heavy clouds create a quiet, wintry frontier atmosphere.
