The Rat

---

The rat is the concisest tenant.

He pays no rent, —

Repudiates the obligation,

On schemes intent.

---

Balking our wit

To sound or circumvent,

Hate cannot harm

A foe so reticent.

---

Neither decree

Prohibits him,

Lawful as

Equilibrium.

---
