Dear readers and subscribers, this week I continued to add more poets and poems to our American, French and Russian poetry pages. Our new American poets are Phillis Wheatley, Claude McKay, Henry David Thoreau, and Walt Whitman. For the French poets I introduced André Marie Chénier, Pierre Jules Théophile Gautier, Alphonse Daudet and Paul Éluard, and I supplemented our Russian section with the poets Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Afanasy Afanasyevich Fet.

I also took the time to translate the transcript of the video of the Address of the Russian President to his Federal Assembly on February 29, 2024 in English and French

En particulier, je me suis plongé dans les œuvres du poète américain Edgard A. Guest, de la poétesse russe Anna Akhmatova et du poète français Paul Verlaine. J’ai rassemblé et ajouté une sélection de poèmes dans chacune de ces langues, dans le but d’offrir une expérience diversifiée et enrichissante pour les amateurs de poésie comme vous. La collection comprend une sélection de pièces perspicaces et stimulantes qui, je crois, captent l’essence et l’attrait de chaque tradition poétique. Dear readers and subscribers, this week I worked on American, French and Russian poetry and added poems in the 3 languages. I continued the collection “The Path to Home” by Edgard A. Guest, our American poet, then continued with a new collection called “Les Années funestes ” by Victor Hugo, and ended by adding new poems to our outstanding Russian poet Anna Akhmatova.

I apologize to our English readers as I made a mistake in the title of our last post. The author of the poem “I will not tire of singing your praises, stars!..” is Ivan Bunin and not Alexander Blok which is now corrected.
Next week, there will not be any post on the 13, the English and French posts will be published on the 14 for Valentines day.

Chers lecteurs et abonnés, cette semaine a été remplie par le monde fascinant de la poésie alors que je me suis plongé dans les domaines de la poésie américaine, de la poésie française et de la poésie russe. La beauté et la diversité trouvées dans les expressions poétiques de chaque langue continuent de me captiver. Dans le domaine de la poésie américaine, j’ai poursuivi mon exploration du célèbre poète Edgard A. Guest, et de sa collection intemporelle “The Path to Home”.

Tournant vers la poésie française, j’ai eu le plaisir d’ajouter une nouvelle collection posthume de l’estimé Victor Hugo appelée “Dieu”. Les vers profonds et introspectifs de Hugo ne manquent jamais d’ébranler les profondeurs de l’âme avec leurs thèmes poignants et leur imagerie évocatrice.

En explorant la poésie russe, je me suis plongé dans les œuvres profondes d’Anna Akhmatova, ajoutant plus de ses merveilleux poèmes à la collection. La poésie d’Akhmatova reflète une profondeur d’émotion et d’insight qui transcende les frontières linguistiques, offrant une résonance profonde aux lecteurs à travers le monde.
