Our baby crow is still growing and mastering the art of flight, and she now enjoys perching on the back of my chair while eagerly waiting for my company. She is also playing more, here she is trying to get the white ring back after having taken it off the other perch. I got tired of picking it up, so I tied it. …

This week, we also discovered the remarkable Claude Monet and his mesmerizing 1961 painting “A corner of the studio.” I warmly invite you to join me in delving into the captivating beauty of this artwork and to continue our shared journey of finding joy in the arts together. Let’s fully immerse ourselves in the profound expressions of creativity and embrace the boundless inspiration that awaits us within the world of art. Chers lecteurs et abonnés, Quelle semaine mouvementée ! J’ai eu la joie de secourir un autre oiseau, et maintenant j’ai un invité temporaire chez moi. J’ai hâte de partager avec vous quelques courtes vidéos dès que le bébé corbeau me laissera tranquille un moment. La bonne nouvelle, c’est qu’il a doublé de taille en à peine 2 semaines et commence à prendre son envol (et à faire quelques atterrissages mouvementés aussi !).

En plus de cela, j’ai décidé de plonger dans le monde de l’art français, alors préparez-vous à découvrir de nouvelles peintures chaque semaine. Je crois vraiment que la poésie et la peinture se complètent magnifiquement.

Cette semaine, j’ai écrit quelques mots sur le talentueux artiste Paul Gauguin. Une œuvre qui a particulièrement capté mon attention est “La Seine à Paris“.

Et enfin, mais non des moindres, je me suis plongée dans la poésie américaine, française et russe, apportant ainsi une multitude de nouveaux poèmes sur le site pour votre plaisir.

Dear readers and subscribers, What a week it has been! I had the joy of rescuing another bird, and now I have a temporary guest in my home. I can’t wait to share some short videos with you as soon as the baby crow gives me a moment to myself. The exciting news is that it has doubled in size in just about 2 weeks and is beginning to take flight (and having a few crash landings too!).

In addition to this, I’ve decided to delve into the world of French art, so get ready to discover new paintings every week. I truly believe that poetry and paintings complement each other beautifully.

This week, I penned a few words about the talented artist Paul Gauguin. One piece that has particularly captured my attention is “The Seine in Paris“.

And last but not least, I’ve been immersing myself in American, French, and Russian poetry, bringing a wealth of new poems to the site for your enjoyment.

As I continue on this enriching journey, I am eagerly looking forward to sharing more insights and discoveries with all of you. Stay tuned for more captivating additions to our literary and artistic expedition!

Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (1848 – 1903) embodied the soul of a French painter, fiercely intertwined with the essence of the Post-Impressionist and Symbolist movements.

Saviez-vous que les lignes inoubliables, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” immortalisées sur une plaque de bronze au socle de la Statue de la Liberté, et servant de symbole intemporel d’espoir et d’inclusion, ont été écrites par Emma Lazarus ? La riche palette d’émotions et d’expériences tissée dans les vers m’a laissé bouche bée, et c’est un vrai plaisir d’entreprendre ce voyage poétique avec vous tous. Explorons maintenant le monde captivant de nos trois poètes.

Le premier nouveau poète, Velimir Khlebnikov, (1885-1922) dont le vrai nom est Viktor Vladimirovich Khlebnikov, est célébré comme une figure pionnière du futurisme russe. Son travail révolutionnaire dans la réforme du langage poétique et son audacieuse expérimentation dans la création de mots le distinguent en tant que poète. Il a notamment exploré l’abstrusité morphologique, ce qui en a fait une présence distincte dans la poésie russe. Roman Yakobson, qui a personnellement connu Khlebnikov, le tenait en haute estime, le qualifiant de “plus grand poète mondial du vingtième siècle actuel”. Les contributions de Khlebnikov continuent d’inspirer et de captiver les lecteurs du monde entier.

François-René, Vicomte de Chateaubriand (1768-1848), notre deuxième poète, a émergé comme un phare de créativité en son temps. Une source d’inspiration, il est considéré comme un pionnier du romantisme français et un éminent dans la littérature française. En tant qu’écrivain, mémorialiste et homme politique français, son héritage continue de briller dans le monde littéraire.

Notre dernière poète, Emma Lazarus (1849-1887), était une auteure américaine inspirante célébrée pour sa poésie, sa prose et ses traductions, ainsi que pour son activisme passionné en faveur des causes juives et géorgistes. Son œuvre la plus célèbre, le sonnet “The New Colossus,” écrit en 1883, fut une puissante réponse à la Statue de la Liberté. Dear readers and subscribers, I am overjoyed to share that this week has been remarkably inspiring as I immersed myself in the realm of American, French, and Russian poetry, enhancing our poetry sections with more poets and their enthralling works. Did you know that the unforgettable lines, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” immortalized on a bronze plaque at the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal, and serving as a timeless symbol of hope and inclusion were penned by Emma Lazarus? The rich tapestry of emotions and experiences woven into the verses has left me spellbound, and it is a true delight to embark on this poetic journey with all of you. Let’s now explore the captivating world of our three poets.

Our first new poet, Velimir Khlebnikov, (1885-1922) whose real name is Viktor Vladimirovich Khlebnikov, is celebrated as a pioneering figure in Russian futurism. His groundbreaking work in reforming poetic language and fearless experimentation with word creation set him apart as a poet. Notably, he delved into morphological abstruseness, making him a distinct presence in Russian poetry. Roman Yakobson, who had a personal acquaintance with Khlebnikov, held him in the highest regard, referring to him as “the greatest world poet of the current twentieth century.” Khlebnikov’s contributions continue to inspire and captivate readers worldwide.

François-René, Vicomte de Chateaubriand (1768-1848), our second poet, emerged as a beacon of creativity during his time. A beacon of inspiration, he is regarded as a trailblazer of French Romanticism and a luminary in French literature. As a French writer, memoirist, and politician, his legacy continues to shine brightly in the literary world.

Our last poet, Emma Lazarus (1849-1887) was an inspiring American author celebrated for her poetry, prose, and translations, as well as her passionate activism for Jewish and Georgist causes. Her most renowned work, the sonnet “The New Colossus,” written in 1883, was a powerful response to the Statue of Liberty. Its iconic lines, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” are immortalized on a bronze plaque at the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal, serving as a timeless symbol of hope and inclusion.

Chers lecteurs et abonnés, cette semaine, j’ai continué à travailler sur nos sections de poésie américaine, française, et russe, en ajoutant de nouveaux poèmes et poètes. De plus, j’ai fait une exception et partagé une nouvelle particulièrement choquante pour moi, puisque j’habitais à proximité du pont Francis Scott Key et que j’ai des amis qui naviguent ou conduisent là-bas régulièrement.

Nos 2 nouveaux poètes qui nous inspirent par leurs contributions remarquables à la littérature sont Fiodor Sologoub et Guillaume Apollinaire.

Fiodor Sologoub est l’un des représentants les plus brillants de l’Âge d’argent et du symbolisme russe. À ce jour, sa créativité étonne par son originalité et son ambiguïté. Ses poèmes excitent l’imagination avec leurs motifs mystiques. De même, le poète français Guillaume Apollinaire est estimé comme l’un des plus grands poètes du début du XXe siècle, ainsi que comme un défenseur passionné du cubisme et un précurseur du surréalisme.

En partageant ces trésors poétiques avec vous, j’espère susciter un amour de la poésie dans des langues diverses et célébrer la richesse incroyable de la littérature mondiale. Merci de m’accompagner dans ce voyage littéraire enrichissant.

Dear readers and subscribers, this week I continued to work on our American, French, and Russian poetry sections, adding more poems and poets and made an exception and shared a news particularly shocking to me since I lived close to the Francis Scott Key Bridge and have friends sailing or driving there often.

Our 2 new poets who inspire us with their remarkable contributions to literature are Fyodor Sologub and Guillaume Apollinaire.

Fyodor Sologub is one of the brightest representatives of the Silver Age and Russian symbolism. To this day, creativity amazes with its originality and ambiguity. His poems excite the imagination with their mystical motifs. Similarly, the French poet, Guillaume Apollinaire, is esteemed as one of the foremost poets of the early 20th century, as well as an impassioned defender of Cubism and a forefather of Surrealism.

In sharing these poetic treasures with you, I hope to kindle a love for poetry in diverse languages and to celebrate the incredible richness of world literature. Thank you for joining me on this enriching literary journey.

Guest, our American poet, then continued with a new collection called “Les Années funestes ” by Victor Hugo, and ended by adding new poems to our outstanding Russian poet Anna Akhmatova.

I apologize to our English readers as I made a mistake in the title of our last post. The author of the poem “I will not tire of singing your praises, stars!..” is Ivan Bunin and not Alexander Blok which is now corrected.

Dans le domaine de la poésie américaine, j’ai poursuivi mon exploration du célèbre poète Edgard A. Guest, et de sa collection intemporelle “The Path to Home”.

Tournant vers la poésie française, j’ai eu le plaisir d’ajouter une nouvelle collection posthume de l’estimé Victor Hugo appelée “Dieu”. Les vers profonds et introspectifs de Hugo ne manquent jamais d’ébranler les profondeurs de l’âme avec leurs thèmes poignants et leur imagerie évocatrice.

En explorant la poésie russe, je me suis plongé dans les œuvres profondes d’Anna Akhmatova, ajoutant plus de ses merveilleux poèmes à la collection. La poésie d’Akhmatova reflète une profondeur d’émotion et d’insight qui transcende les frontières linguistiques, offrant une résonance profonde aux lecteurs à travers le monde.
