I discovered Teash Teash (Тишь means quiet, silence) under a van on May 1st. She was a tiny baby. When I startled her, she bravely stood alone in the middle of the road. As I approached, she attempted to fly to safety but only made it to my knee, allowing me to gently catch her and bring her home. Typically, if their parents or group members are nearby, birds would call out and follow you, but they were nowhere to be seen. I’m uncertain how long she had been out there, but it was evident that she hadn’t eaten in a while.

When we got home, Teash Teash was too weak to perch, so I made a cozy nest for her on the floor. I didn’t have the right bird food at home, and since she was resisting what I offered and I didn’t want to force her, I waited until the stores opened the next day to get the proper food. I made it to the store as soon as it opened and rushed back home to feed the little one. Although she initially refused the food, after some gentle coaxing, she finally ate. Thankfully, her resistance to food didn’t last long. By the end of the day, she was already perching on a small branch close to the ground, showing signs of improvement.

The next day, I attached a small branch to the old door frame and placed a litter box underneath. I also added a small portion of a milk bottle, but she didn’t show any interest in food or water. This is where the video begins.

In my experience with crows, they usually enjoy water, often dunking their food in it before eating, but she still wasn’t fond of it. However, she quickly adapted and began calling out for food in less than three days, eagerly swallowing the food as if she were feeding from her mother. At the same time, she remained wild and was uneasy when I moved around the house, which made me hopeful that I could release her back into the wild once she was ready.

After about three days, Teash Teash started grooming herself, indicating that she was comfortable in the house and didn’t mind my presence. You might be wondering why I refer to her as a “she.” It’s quite simple; females are typically more assertive and wilder than males. I’ve never been bitten by a male bird, and they usually adopt me, causing some challenges when it’s time to release them. The first thing Teash Teash did was to “bite” me. It didn’t hurt, but I understood that she didn’t want to be handled.

As I saw her condition improving, I began gently exercising her wings by moving her up and down on my finger to simulate flying since she didn’t have enough feathers to fly on her own. Our feeding sessions became less frequent as she started eating more at a time. When she finishes eating, she holds the food in her beak. Initially, she would drop it, but now she obediently places it back in my hand when I ask. One chilly day, I noticed that she couldn’t keep herself warm alone, so I placed her on my shoulder. While it did the trick in keeping her warm, it unintentionally made her want to stay on my shoulder instead of her perch. On that day, she started making little sounds, almost as if she were speaking. Over time, she even began picking at my hair, a sign of friendliness and grooming. She could spend hours doing that, prompting me to buy some toys for her.

As her feathers grew, I intensified the flying exercises. She progressed from flying from my hand to the perch, gradually increasing the distance. After some practice, she started flying, although she struggled to control her direction and often crashed. One peculiar thing is that she panics when placed on a flat surface and now that she flys enough, fly straight on my arm and then my shoulder if I put her on the ground. I plan to work on addressing this in the coming weeks, as she needs to be able to access her food and water, typically found on the ground.

In the first few days, she needed feeding every half hour, and she grew rapidly. Now, 15 days later, she looks almost like an adult, but she still won’t eat anything I offer, so I continue to feed her as if she were a baby. I’ve seen her sleep with one foot raised once, although she mostly sleeps standing up or with her feet tucked, resembling a chicken on her eggs. Yesterday, I decided to buy her some toys, and to my surprise, she showed interest in a few.

Félicitations pour le Jour de la Victoire – notre fête sacrée la plus importante, véritablement nationale!

Nous honorons nos pères et grands-pères, arrière-grands-pères. Ils ont défendu leur terre natale et écrasé le nazisme, libéré les peuples d’Europe et atteint les sommets de leur valeur militaire et ouvrière.

Aujourd’hui, nous voyons comment ils tentent de déformer la vérité sur la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Cela interfère avec ceux qui ont l’habitude de fonder leur politique essentiellement coloniale sur l’hypocrisie et le mensonge. Ils détruisent les monuments commémoratifs des vrais combattants contre le nazisme, mettent sur des piédestaux les traîtres et les complices des nazis, rayent le souvenir de l’héroïsme et de la noblesse des soldats libérateurs, du grand sacrifice qu’ils ont consenti au nom de la vie.

Le revanchisme, la moquerie de l’histoire, le désir de justifier les partisans actuels du nazisme font partie de la politique générale des élites occidentales visant à inciter de plus en plus de conflits régionaux, d’inimitiés interethniques et interreligieuses et à restreindre les centres souverains et indépendants du développement mondial.

Nous rejetons les prétentions d’exclusivité de tout État ou alliance ; nous savons à quoi conduit l’exorbitance de telles ambitions. La Russie fera tout pour empêcher un conflit mondial, mais en même temps, nous ne permettrons à personne de nous menacer. Nos forces stratégiques sont toujours prêtes au combat.

Dear citizens of Russia! Dear veterans!

Comrade soldiers and sailors, sergeants and foremen, midshipmen and warrant officers! Comrade officers, generals and admirals! Soldiers, commanders, front-line soldiers are the heroes of a special military operation!

Congratulations on Victory Day – our most important, truly national, sacred holiday!

We honor our fathers and grandfathers, great-grandfathers. They defended their native land and crushed Nazism, liberated the peoples of Europe, and reached the heights of military and labor valor.

Today we see how they are trying to distort the truth about World War II. It interferes with those who are accustomed to base their essentially colonial policy on hypocrisy and lies. They demolish memorials to true fighters against Nazism, put traitors and accomplices of the Nazis on pedestals, cross out the memory of the heroism and nobility of the liberating soldiers, of the great sacrifice they made in the name of life.

Revanchism, mockery of history, the desire to justify the current followers of the Nazis are part of the general policy of Western elites to incite more and more regional conflicts, interethnic and interreligious enmity, and to restrain sovereign, independent centers of world development.

We reject the claims of any state or alliance to exclusivity; we know what the exorbitance of such ambitions leads to. Russia will do everything to prevent a global conflict, but at the same time we will not allow anyone to threaten us. Our strategic forces are always in combat readiness.

In the West, they would like to forget the lessons of the Second World War, but we remember that the fate of humanity was decided in grandiose battles near Moscow and Leningrad, Rzhev, Stalingrad, Kursk and Kharkov, near Minsk, Smolensk and Kiev, in heavy bloody battles from Murmansk to the Caucasus and Crimea.

The first three long, difficult years of the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet Union and all the republics of the former Soviet Union fought the Nazis almost one on one, while almost all of Europe worked for the military power of the Wehrmacht.

At the same time, I would like to emphasize: Russia has never belittled the importance of the second front and the help of the allies. We honor the courage of all the soldiers of the anti-Hitler coalition, members of the Resistance, underground fighters, partisans, the courage of the people of China, who fought for their independence against the aggression of militaristic Japan. And we will always remember, never, never forget our common struggle and inspiring traditions of alliance.

Dear friends!

Russia is now going through a difficult, transitional period. The fate of the Motherland, its future depends on each of us.

Today, on Victory Day, we realize this even more acutely and distinctly and we are still equal to the generation of winners – brave, noble, wise, to its ability to preserve friendship and endure adversity, to always have confidence in oneself and in one’s country, to sincerely and unreservedly love the Motherland.

We celebrate Victory Day in the context of a special military operation. All its participants – those who are on the front line, on the line of combat contact – are our heroes. We bow to your perseverance and self-sacrifice, dedication. All of Russia is with you!

Our veterans believe in you and worry about you. Their spiritual involvement in your destinies and exploits inextricably binds the generation of heroes of the Fatherland.

Today we bow our heads to the blessed memory of all whose lives were taken by the Great Patriotic War. In memory of sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, relatives, friends.

We bow our heads to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War who have left us. Before the memory of civilians who died from barbaric shelling and terrorist attacks by neo-Nazis. Before our comrades in arms who fell in the fight against neo-Nazism, in a righteous battle for Russia.

Avec nos partenaires de l’intégration eurasiatique et d’autres centres souverains de développement, nous continuerons à travailler à la formation d’un ordre mondial multipolaire et d’un système de sécurité égal et indivisible.

Dans un monde complexe en rapide évolution, nous devons être autosuffisants et compétitifs, ouvrir de nouveaux horizons pour la Russie, comme cela s’est déjà produit à plusieurs reprises dans notre histoire.

As the attendees gathered in the stately St. Andrew’s Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, the air was filled with a sense of solemnity and reverence.

At exactly 12:00 Vladimir Putin entered the St. George Hall. He was greeted with applause. The head of state greeted some guests. At the podium, he took the oath: “When exercising the powers of the President of the Russian Federation, I swear to respect and protect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to observe and defend the Constitution of the Russian Federation, to protect the sovereignty and independence, security and integrity of the state, to faithfully serve the people.”

The head of the Constitutional Court announced that Vladimir Putin took office as president of Russia. The national anthem was played. The standard of the head of state rose above the dome of the presidential residence in the Kremlin. Then Putin took the floor.

Dear citizens of Russia! Ladies and Gentlemen! Dear friends!

In these solemn and responsible minutes of assuming the office of the President, I would like to sincerely thank the citizens of Russia in all regions of our country, the residents of our historical lands, who defended the right to be together with the Motherland.

I want to bow to our heroes, participants in the special military operation, everyone who fights for the Fatherland.

Once again, I thank you for your trust and support, and now I am addressing every citizen of Russia.

I just took the words of the presidential oath. Its text concentrates the essence of the highest mission of the head of state – to protect Russia and serve our people.

I understand that this is a huge honor, responsibility and sacred duty. This is what determined the meaning and content of my work in previous years. I assure you that in the future the interests and safety of the people of Russia will remain above all else for me.

The consolidated will of millions of people is a colossal force, evidence of our common firm belief that we will determine the fate of Russia ourselves and only ourselves for the sake of today and future generations.

You, citizens of Russia, have confirmed the correctness of the country’s course. This is of great importance right now, when we are faced with serious challenges. I see in this a deep understanding of our common historical goals, a determination to adamantly defend our choice, our values, freedom and the national interests of Russia.

I am confident that we will pass through this difficult, milestone period with dignity, become even stronger and will definitely implement long-term plans and large-scale projects aimed at achieving development goals.

And this is, first of all, saving people. I am confident that support for centuries-old family values and traditions will continue to unite public and religious associations, political parties, and all levels of government.

Our decisions on the development of the country and regions must be effective and fair, and improve the well-being and quality of life of Russian families.

We have been and will be open to strengthening good relations with all countries that see Russia as a reliable and honest partner. And this is truly the global majority.

We do not refuse dialogue with Western states. The choice is theirs: do they intend to continue trying to restrain the development of Russia, continue the policy of aggression, continuous pressure on our country for years, or look for a path to cooperation and peace.

I repeat: a conversation, including on issues of security and strategic stability, is possible. But not from a position of strength, without any arrogance, conceit and personal exclusivity, but only on equal terms, respecting each other’s interests.

Together with our partners in Eurasian integration and other sovereign development centers, we will continue to work to form a multipolar world order and an equal and indivisible security system.

In a complex world that is rapidly changing, we must be self-sufficient and competitive, opening new horizons for Russia, as has happened more than once in our history.

But it is important for us to remember its lessons, not to forget about the tragic price of internal turmoil and upheaval. Therefore, our state and socio-political system must be strong and absolutely resistant to any challenges and threats, ensure the progression and stability of development, the unity and independence of the country.

At the same time, stability does not mean stagnation. Our state and social system must be flexible and create conditions for renewal and movement forward.

We see how the atmosphere in society has changed, how highly reliability, mutual responsibility, sincerity, decency, nobility and courage are valued today. I will do everything so that people who have shown their best human and professional qualities prove their loyalty to the Fatherland by deeds and take leading positions in public administration, in the economy – in all spheres.

We must ensure reliable continuity in the development of the country for decades to come, raise and educate young generations who will strengthen the power of Russia, develop our statehood, which is based on interethnic harmony, preserving the traditions of all peoples living in Russia, a country-civilization united by the Russian language and our multinational culture.

Dear friends!

I will do everything necessary, everything in my power to justify your trust, and to do this I will use all the powers of the head of state, which are enshrined in the Constitution. At the same time, I would like to emphasize: the results of this work depend decisively on our unity and cohesion, on our common desire to benefit the Fatherland, protect it, and work with full dedication.

Today, in fact, we are answerable to our thousand-year history and our ancestors. They conquered seemingly inaccessible heights, because they always put their Motherland first, they knew that they could only achieve truly great goals together with their country and their people, and they created a world power, our Fatherland, and achieved such triumphs as who still inspire us today.

We confidently look forward, plan our future, outline and are already implementing new projects and programs that are designed to make our development even more dynamic, even more powerful.

After the customary artillery salute, Vladimir Putin attended the parade on Cathedral Square, followed by a visit to the Annunciation Cathedral. There, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ conducted a prayer service and bestowed blessings upon the president “to serve the Fatherland.”

Notre petite opération de sauvetage d’un cygne à Strasbourg

Chers lecteurs et abonnés. aujourd’hui, nous allons parler de notre petite opération de sauvetage d’un cygne avec quelques faits à leurs sujets, ou si vous préférez vous pouvez tout simplement regarder la video. Avant hier, j’ai décidé de marcher jusqu’au magasin au lieu de prendre le tram. Strasbourg, avec ses nombreux trésors cachés, comme toujours semblait particulièrement joli.

En chemin, j’ai rencontré un cygne sur le trottoir ayant besoin d’aide pour retrouver sa compagne qui attendait patiemment dans l’eau.

Comme vous pouvez le voir dans la video, le cygne marche le long de la rivière, incapable de passer à travers la clôture. On peut voir de loin qu’il se fait gros quand il est tout seul certainement essayant d’effrayer la clôture pour qu’elle s’en aille.

Après avoir vu quelques personnes s’arrêter quelques minutes puis repartir, j’ai décidé d’essayer de l’aider et me suis dirigée vers le cygne. J’avais peur que le cygne ait été heurté par une voiture, mais heureusement il était indemne et avait juste besoin d’un peu d’aide pour retourner dans l’eau. Comment est-il arrivé là est un total mystère pour moi, ce n’est pas habituel de les voir marcher sur les trottoirs.

Il semblait être un cygne adulte male je pense car celui dans l’eau paraissait plus petit, mais je peux me tromper. En le voyant de près j’ai rapidement réalisé qu’il était trop lourd pour que je puisse le porter mais qu’il n’etait pas du tout agressif envers les gens.

Un cygne adulte pèse plus de 15 kg et son envergure peut dépasser 3,1 mètres. J’ai donc demandé l’aide d’un étudiant pour le guider de l’autre côté du pont où il pouvait descendre vers la rivière. Et en lui parlant constamment on l’a encourager à avancer à sa vitesse dans la bonne direction.

Les cygnes se nourrissent dans l’eau et sur terre et peuvent vivre jusqu’à 24 ans. Ils sont presque entièrement herbivores, bien qu’ils puissent manger de petites quantités d’animaux aquatiques.

Un comportement familier des cygnes est qu’ils se marient pour la vie et se lient généralement avant même d’atteindre leur maturité sexuelle. Et nous pouvions clairement voir sa compagne nager aussi près que possible de l’endroit où il marchait. En raison de leurs relations durables, apparemment monogames, les cygnes sont souvent un symbole d’amour ou de fidélité.

Mais saviez-vous que la viande de cygne était considérée comme un mets de luxe en Angleterre pendant le règne d’Élisabeth I et qu’il existe un célèbre ballet appelé “Le Lac des cygnes” ? Il a été écrit par Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski, et est l’un des plus canoniques des ballets classiques.

Généralement, les nids des cygnes sont situés au sol près de l’eau et mesurent environ un mètre de diamètre. Contrairement à de nombreux autres canards et oies, le mâle participe à la construction du nid et prend également des tours pour couver les œufs. Ils sont très protecteurs de leurs nids et attaqueront sauvagement tout ce qu’ils perçoivent comme une menace pour leurs oisillons, y compris les humains. Et par chance j’en ai trouver un au centre de Strasbourg (quelques jours plus tot).

Lors de notre marche lente, le cygne a soufflé pour pouvoir retourner d’où il venait, mais comme on a refusé de lui céder le passage, il a continué à marcher là où nous voulions.

J’ai été surprise car ses pieds faisaient pas mal de bruit sur le trottoir.

En chemin, nous avons demandé à deux travailleurs de nous aider, alors maintenant nous étions quatre à marcher avec le cygne, ce qui faciliterait sa traversée du pont. Nous avons continué à avancer lentement pour ne pas stresser ce pauvre cygne plus qu’il ne l’était déjà.

Au bout du trottoir, on voit que notre cygne panique un peu et essaie de passer à travers la clôture plus souvent. Puis il s’arrête et refuse d’avancer.

Finalement, l’un des travailleurs réussit à le faire avancer, mais au lieu de traverser le pont, il a été sur la gauche et nous ne sommes pas parvenu à le convaincre de se diriger à nouveau dans la bonne direction.

Après beaucoup d’efforts de persuasion, car c’est un grand oiseau et bien qu’il ne sois pas agressif il pourrait decider de se défendre et nous ne voulions pas lui faire de mal. l’un des travailleurs l’a saisit et transporté de l’autre côté.

Là, le cygne est rapidement descendu puis il s’est dépêchés de nager loin de nous et a finalement retrouvé sa compagne. Qui peut lui en vouloir, on a du bien effrayé ce superbe oiseau en le forçant a aller là ou il ne voulait pas, ne comprenant pas que nous voulions simplement l’aider.

Cela a été une expérience vraiment remarquable et je me sens reconnaissante d’avoir reçu de l’aide d’inconnus et d’avoir pu contribuer à réunir le cygne avec sa compagne. Des rencontres comme celle-ci servent de puissant rappel de la beauté de la nature et de l’importance d’offrir un coup de main à nos amis les animaux.

J’espère que les cygnes continueront à s’épanouir et à profiter de leur temps sur la rivière, sans aucun obstacle sur leur chemin, et je continuerais d’apprecier quand je les verrais nager sur l’Ill.

Dear readers and subscribers. today we are going to talk about our little swan rescue operation with some facts about them, or if you prefer you can just watch the video. The day before yesterday, I decided to walk to the store instead of taking the tram. Strasbourg, with its many hidden treasures, as always seemed particularly pretty.

On the way, I met a swan on the sidewalk in need of help to find its companion who was patiently waiting in the water.

As you can see in the video, the swan is walking along the river, unable to get through the fence. You can see from a distance that he makes itself look fat when he’s all alone, trying to scare the fence into leaving.

After seeing a few people stop for a few minutes and then leave, I decided to try to help and headed towards the swan. I was afraid the swan had been hit by a car, but fortunately, it was unharmed and just needed some help to get back into the water. How it got there is a total mystery to me; it’s not usual to see them walking on sidewalks.

It seemed to be an adult male swan, I think, because the one in the water looked smaller, but I could be wrong. Seeing it up close, I quickly realized it was too heavy for me to carry, but it wasn’t aggressive at all towards people.

An adult swan weighs more than 33 lb and its wingspan can exceed 10 feet. So, I asked a student for help to guide it to the other side of the bridge where it could descend to the river. By constantly talking to it, we encouraged it to move at its own pace in the right direction.

Swans feed in the water and on land and, can live up to 24 years. They are almost entirely herbivorous, although they can eat small amounts of aquatic animals.

A familiar behavior of swans is that they mate for life and typically bond before even reaching sexual maturity. We could clearly see his partner swimming as close as possible to where he was walking. Due to their apparently monogamous, enduring relationships, swans are often a symbol of love or fidelity.

But did you know that swan meat was considered a delicacy in England during the reign of Elizabeth I and that there is a famous ballet called “Swan Lake”? It was written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and is one of the most canonical of the classical ballets.

Generally, swan nests are located on the ground near water and measure about a meter in diameter. Unlike many other ducks and geese, the male participates in nest construction and also takes turns incubating the eggs. They are very protective of their nests and will viciously attack anything they perceive as a threat to their chicks, including humans. By pure luck, I found one in the center of Strasbourg (Not during our rescue).

During our slow walk, the swan huffed in order to return to where it came from, but as we refused to give way, it continued to walk where we wanted.

I was surprised because its feet made quite a bit of noise on the sidewalk.

On the way, we asked two workers to help us, so now there were four of us walking with the swan, which would make it easier for it to cross the bridge. We continued to move slowly so as not to stress this poor swan more than it already was.

At the end of the sidewalk, we see our swan panicking a bit and trying to pass through the fence more often. Then it stops and refuses to move forward.

Finally, one of the workers manages to get it to move forward, but instead of crossing the bridge, it went to the left and we failed to convince it to head in the right direction again.

After much effort of persuasion, as it is a large bird and although it is not aggressive, it could decide to defend itself and we did not want to harm it. One of the workers grabbed it and carried it to the other side.

There, the swan quickly descended and then hurried to swim far away from us and finally found its mate. Who can blame it, we must have really frightened this magnificent bird by forcing it to go where it did not want to go, not understanding that we simply wanted to help it.

It has been a truly remarkable experience and I am grateful to have received help from strangers and to have been able to reunite the swan with its mate. Encounters like this serve as a powerful reminder of the beauty of nature and the importance of lending a helping hand to our animal friends.

I hope the swans will continue to thrive and enjoy their time on the river, without any obstacles in their way, and I will continue to appreciate seeing them swim on the Ill.
