Dear readers and subscribers, I had a tremendously productive week immersing myself in the world of American, French, and Russian poetry. I’m exhilarated to share not only new poems in all three languages, but also to introduce you to the exquisite work of the esteemed French painter, Edgar Degas.

For the coming week, I have selected his mesmerizing painting “Dance Class (Ballet Class)” to feature, a piece that truly embodies the essence of his brilliance.

Our little baby crow now has the company of a relative found soaked and walking on the side of a four lane road trying to get on the sidewalk without success. Leaving it there unable to get back in the tall tree would have be a death sentence so I brough it home. As you can see he (yes I believe it is a male) is older, but also has a different character and eye color which make me believe they are not exactly the same species. The fun part is that even though she is half of his size she does protect me and her perch but they do play together and follow each other. (her ring are red, his is blue)

I’ll try to write and make a short video about out 2 rescued baby birds on Tuesday if they leave me alone 5 minutes…

Notre bébé corbeau se porte à merveille et devient plus grand et fort de jour en jour. Il déploie ses ailes et prend son envol avec de plus en plus d’assurance à chaque jour qui passe. De manière intéressante, il a développé une charmante habitude de se percher sur mon épaule et refuse catégoriquement de toucher le sol ou de marcher sur toute surface autre que ses perchoirs. Nous aurons un article avec une vidéo sur notre bébé qui grandit et commence à jouer mercredi.

Nous sommes également ravis de partager que cette semaine a apporté une abondance de nouveaux poèmes à nos pages de poésie américaine, française et russe. De plus, nous sommes ravis de vous présenter le dernier ajout à notre collection de peintres français, Paul Cézanne, mettant en vedette sa remarquable peinture “Joueurs de cartes“.

Paul Cézanne (1839 – 1906) est célébré comme un visionnaire peintre post-impressionniste français dont le travail novateur a transformé le monde de l’art et a laissé une empreinte durable sur les mouvements artistiques avant-gardistes du début du XXe siècle. Cézanne est largement acclamé pour combler le fossé entre l’impressionnisme de la fin du XIXe siècle et l’émergence du cubisme au début du XXe siècle.

Dear beloved readers and subscribers,
Our baby crow is doing wonderfully and growing stronger by the day. She has been spreading his wings and taking flight more confidently with each passing day. Interestingly, she has developed a charming habit of perching on my shoulder and adamantly refuses to touch the ground or walk on any surface besides her perches. We’ll have a post with video about out growing baby who begins to play on Tuesday.

We are also elated to share that this week has brought an abundance of new poetry to our American, French, and Russian poetry pages. Furthermore, we are thrilled to introduce the newest addition to our collection of French painters, Paul Cézanne, featuring his remarkable painting “Card Players.”

Paul Cézanne (1839 – 1906) is celebrated as a visionary French Post-Impressionist painter whose groundbreaking work transformed the art world and left an enduring impact on avant-garde artistic movements in the early 20th century. Cézanne is widely acclaimed for bridging the gap between late 19th-century Impressionism and the emergence of Cubism in the early 20th century.

Chers lecteurs et abonnés, Je suis ravie de partager avec vous que cette semaine, j’ai été très occupée à ajouter de nouveaux poètes et poèmes à nos pages de poésie américaine, poésie française, et poésie russe. C’est avec plaisir que je vous présente nos trois nouveaux poètes talentueux ! Ces ajouts récents enrichissent non seulement notre collection, mais offrent également une gamme diverse et captivante de styles et de voix, reflétant la diversité de l’expression poétique à travers différents paysages culturels. Des vers stimulants aux récits évocateurs, il y en a pour tous les amateurs de poésie. Je suis enchantée de voir notre communauté de poètes et d’amateurs de poésie grandir, favorisant un espace où la créativité ne connaît pas de frontières. Continuons à célébrer l’art de la poésie et sa capacité à nous unir à travers les frontières et les langues.

Paul Laurence Dunbar était un poète, romancier et nouvelliste américain très estimé de 1872 à 1906. Il a commencé à écrire à un jeune âge et a été reconnu pour son talent exceptionnel. Dunbar a été l’un des premiers écrivains afro-américains à obtenir une reconnaissance internationale. En plus de la poésie, il a fait des contributions remarquables aux nouvelles et aux romans. Il a également écrit les paroles de la comédie musicale In Dahomey en 1903, qui a été la première comédie musicale entièrement afro-américaine à être jouée sur Broadway à New York.

Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893) figure comme une personnalité éminente de la littérature française du XIXe siècle, reconnu pour sa maîtrise de la nouvelle. Il est célébré comme un représentant de l’école naturaliste, décrivant avec habileté les vies humaines, les destinées et les forces sociales dans une perspective désillusionnée et souvent pessimiste.

Constantin Nikolaïevitch Batiouchkov (1787-1855) est une figure pivot en littérature russe, renommé en tant que poète et influenceur majeur de la tradition romantique au début du XIXe siècle. Souvent considéré comme le précurseur littéraire d’A. S. Pouchkine, ses contributions s’étendaient également à la satire, à la prose et à la traduction. De plus, il était membre de la société d’Arzamas à partir de 1815, adoptant le nom d’Achille.

It’s my pleasure to introduce our three talented new poets! I’m thrilled to witness our community of poets and poetry lovers grow, fostering a space where creativity knows no boundaries. Paul Laurence Dunbar was a highly regarded American poet, novelist, and short story writer from 1872 to 1906. He started writing at a young age and gained recognition for his exceptional talent. Dunbar was one of the first African-American writers to achieve international acclaim. In addition to poetry, he made notable contributions to short stories and novels. He also wrote the lyrics for the musical comedy In Dahomey in 1903, which was the first all-African-American musical to be performed on Broadway in New York.

Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893) stands as a prominent figure in 19th-century French literature, renowned for his mastery of the short story. He is celebrated as a representative of the naturalist school, skillfully portraying human lives, destinies, and social forces in a disillusioned and often pessimistic light.

Konstantin Nikolaevich Batyushkov (1787-1855) stands as a pivotal figure in Russian literature, renowned as a poet and a key influencer of the romantic tradition during the early 19th century. Often regarded as the literary predecessor of A. S. Pushkin, his contributions also extended to satire, prose, and translation. Additionally, he was a member of the Arzamas society from 1815, adopting the name Achilles.

Chers lecteurs et abonnés, je suis ravie de partager la nouvelle passionnante. Cette semaine, nous avons élargi notre collection de poésie américaine, française et russe avec l’ajout de nouveaux poètes captivants et de leurs œuvres. Parmi nos derniers contributeurs se trouve le remarquable Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869), un auteur, poète et homme d’État français distingué qui a joué un rôle crucial dans l’établissement de la Deuxième République française et la préservation du tricolore en tant que drapeau de la France. Amplement reconnu comme le pionnier de la poésie romantique en France, Lamartine occupe une place prépondérante dans le mouvement romantique de la littérature française, et ses contributions continuent d’inspirer les lecteurs et les poètes.

En plus de Lamartine, nous avons l’honneur d’inclure Pierre Corneille (1606-1684) dans notre collection croissante. Corneille est largement salué comme le fondateur de la tragédie française et est compté parmi les éminents dramaturges français du XVIIe siècle aux côtés de Molière et Racine. Son impact profond sur la littérature française et son héritage durable font de son ajout à notre collection de poésie un événement important.

De plus, nous accueillons Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933), une figure remarquable née à Germantown, en Pennsylvanie, aux États-Unis. La polyvalence de Van Dyke en tant qu’écrivain de nouvelles, critique, poète, essayiste, journaliste, professeur, homme d’Église et ministre a laissé une empreinte indélébile sur le monde littéraire. Ses œuvres continuent de résonner auprès de lecteurs de milieux divers, et nous sommes ravis de présenter ses contributions sur notre plateforme.

Enfin, mais certainement pas le moindre, nous avons le privilège de présenter Nikolaï Stepanovitch Goumilev (1886-1921), le premier mari d’Anna Akhmatova et un poète russe distingué de l’Âge d’Argent. L’esprit aventureux de Gumilev, sa poésie unique remplie de terres exotiques et de courageux protagonistes, ainsi que sa vie mouvementée entrelacée avec d’importantes contributions littéraires, font de lui un ajout fascinant à notre collection de poésie.

En partageant ces précieux trésors poétiques, je vise à susciter une passion pour la poésie à travers différentes langues et à honorer l’extraordinaire richesse de la littérature mondiale. Votre soutien continu et votre compagnonnage lors de ce voyage littéraire éclairant sont profondément appréciés. Among our latest contributors is the remarkable Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869), a distinguished French author, poet, and statesman who played a crucial role in establishing the French Second Republic and preserving the tricolore as the flag of France. Widely regarded as the pioneer of Romantic poetry in France, Lamartine holds a prominent place in the Romantic movement in French literature, and his contributions continue to inspire readers and poets alike.

In addition to Lamartine, we are honored to include Pierre Corneille (1606-1684) in our growing collection. Corneille is widely hailed as the founder of French tragedy and is counted among the eminent 17th-century French dramatists alongside Molière and Racine.
